Since the team’s assembly, Lakehead has had nothing but success.  In 2009 the team entered their first Formula SAE Michigan race, competing against teams from Canada and the US placing 43 out of 91 and received the ‘William C. Mitchell Rookie Award’.  Preparing for next year’s competition, the team came up with a new design for the race car utilizing Mastercam Software.  They manufactured parts such as the mould for body cover, brakes, engine mount, and differential mount.
