Mpmaster post not outputting correct address for rotary axis

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

I am customizing the mpmaster post from this site and I am almost totally there. My problem is that the rotary axis address in the PSOF post block is A. But the rotary axis adress is B and it is correct in the rest of the program. Could someone please look at it and tell me what the problem is?

I have attached a Z2G file.

Thanks in advance,

Never mind,

I found it. I just had to change these form A to B:

fmt "B" 11 cabs #C axis position

fmt "B" 14 cinc #C axis position

fmt "B" 14 cout_i #C axis position

fmt "B" 4 indx_out #Index position

I feel kind of dumb to not think of this before...

Ah well, live and learn

This is actually a good question. The reason that you are getting the wrong address is actually an issue with the post that we need to address. The first operation in a file that you have program is likely in the top or front plane (for vertical and horizontal machines respectively). When this happens, this post is not setting the prefix for the rotary axis since it believes there is going to be no rotation. The post then uses the default value defined in the format statement as you found, before eventually changing the prefix to the value stored in the machine definition.
