We recently purchased Mastercam Lathe and need some help. Unfortunately our reseller is extremely undestaffed and won't be able to come out for a couple of weeks. Can't even get someone on the phone who understands!! We had Mastercam mill for years but having some trouble making the transition to lathe. I am reaching out to anyone from a private person or another reseller willing to help me in any way. We are in Hauppauge, NY.  My specific questions relate mostly to having Mastercam work the sub spindle:

- holding a part with both spindles while machining(supporting cutoff operation)
- using the sub to pull the material, hold it, machine, then pull out some more.
- setting tools to work with the sub, axis combination alarms, etc.

I would also like help setting up a standard tool library.

It's possible most of my questions can be handled over the phone but I am willing to pay for someones time.

Our machine is a Mori-seiki NLX with live tools and sub spindle. We have a post from our reseller which later they admitted might not be complete ?! I can't wait any more. Please help.

For training go to Mastercamu.com. For post try your resaler, I had no luck with mine, but you can get lots of help from here.

Here at StreamingTeacher we have a several modules of basic lathe thru mill/turn training. All of those topics and situations you mentioned are covered.  A Mori-NL is used in some of the solid model simulations too.  :)

Note- alot of the m/t functionality is dependent upon a good post.
