I don't think I will have the exact same scenario thou.
I create curves through two sets of multiple compound angle surfaces.
I was using the 'u' shaped, multiple splines as the trimming chain and keeping both sides,
that worked, i hit the plus sign to do it again, selected the surfaces,check, chain window
came up and then the freeze as stated above.
I did have Mc open for awhile created a funky runner, part line and drafted slide seal off.
After I rebooted I was able to do it with out a hitch. I think my cache was peaking, seems typicle
because earlier Project to surface wouldn't work, (happens alot) and a simple close and restart
fixed it as usual.
I was trimming the orange seal off to the runner
I had saved just prior so I did not lose more than a few minutes.

But i don't blame the software. I'm sure I need more gigglebites and ram or something.

Crunch a 5 axis toolpath and while its working, hit the little red x in the top of the status box not the bottom one.

cruch mastercam X6 MU1?, no problema:
toolpath, multiaxis-> curve 5 axis
select tool
select holder
cut patern->3D curves->select->chain
tool axis control->chain->select->chain
colision control->on selected curve
linking-> whatever
roughing-BOOM!!!-YOU ARE OUT
selekting parameters in order from top to bottom
as logical way is not what you expect
btw, mastercam X4 and X5 is O.K.

if you can create a step by step proceedure that will crash X6MU1, you should send a file
and step by step instructions to qc@mastercam.com

Ah well it is what it is.
Second crash today. Once just did a core dump with segmented fault.
The other just crashed icon still sitting there, gonna force me to reboot.
Dam I hate Solaris...
Wait a minute......
Duh......and I was only modeling...
I was drawing a spline though.
Hell my DROID crcrashed 4 times already today. I already did a factory reset. I am not being sarcastic. Swear... true it is! I would probably be crashing Mastercam if I was using it today....

Profiling a spherical radius part. I did not have the line tangent to the sphere. I originally drew a new line from the chamfer to the sphere trimmed it up, deleted the old line, then regenned it. Somethign didn't seem quite right but I tried verifying it anyway. No bueno. So I opened it back up, edited the line in question, changed the endpoint of the line to be tangent, trimmed it up. Worked like I expected.
Guess I messed up somewhere along the line.

I'm trying to imagine what it would be like to be so OCD about hating on something every waking moment of every day and that I have absolutely no control over what I'm hating on.
