Is it posible to have a lathe approach the part Z first and then have X approach.

when exiting the part I need to do X first then Z

I have a twin turret twin spindle lathe and want to keep everything from hitting each other

This would be a dangerous edit to your post. If you happen to be doing anything on the internal side of the part such as boring or face-grooving, it will crash your tool through the part.

 

It is possible to code enough logic to check to see where the machine has been, and where it is going. Based on that information, the appropriate movement could be output. But the movements you requested could be catastrophic.
