Associate color with layer

Hi.

I like to use different colors for different layers for clarity. However, I haven't found any way to make it so that the color changes according to the active layer. I hate picking up the color every time. What should I do?

Associate color with layer, you will find that you cannot truly do this. but the EA Manager give you option to take geo color and put it on a specific level with one click.

Now if you go to the level and your color of all the entity's are color 10 and the default color you have set is 12 it will not toggle it to color 10 because of that level.

I hope this makes sense.

But doesn't all geometry created on that layer inherit the color set in the EA Manager?

No does not work that way. anything you create after that unless you set it to that color will not be the same. this really a one time option. of course you can hit that button again doen the road.

Use this dialog box to specify level, color, style, and width attributes for specific entity types. For example, you can define lines as level 1, blue, and dashed. Each time you create a line, it is automatically created in level 1 in blue, and uses the dashed line style."

What exactly is the point of EA manager? You can assign only single color per single layer for entities. Everything is 1-to-1. Would it be some sort of patent infringement to have similar system as, like, in AutoCAD?

You could also create view sheets to do this
