Helix 3 1/2 rev . Curve 5 ax problem

HEAVY METAL

Recommended Posts

My helix curve starts at A 0 and winds coming of the part 180 degs around from the start. I can't for the life of me get the tool from plowing into the part on the return for the next depth of cut. It's a 4ax path using 5ax curve. Now when I extend the curve and surface around to the top of part this fixes the problem but I'm cutting air. I have tried everything . Check surfaces . safety zone . Linking parameters .no luck . Anyone now what I am missing?

is it plowing into the part in backplot?

did you post the code and look at it.

Try enabling the rotary options on the backplot options page.

It could be that your toolpath is fine and rotary backplot is disabled.

Are you using the legacy 5X toolpaths or advanced 5X.

The linking options in the advanced 5x toolpaths are very powerful
