With the old benchmark thread getting so cluttered it was getting difficult to find the benchmark file. I decided it was time for a new one.

 

 

Benchmark 2.0

 

 

File location: Its on the ftp under unspecified uploads since there are no folders for x6 yet. 

 

Directions: Open the file and dirty the operations. Change the filter to .005 to dirty, and then back to .0001 to run. 

 

As we all know, just dirtying the optirough will automatically dirty the stock model. 

 

Post your results as well as the version of Mastercam you are using and see how your system stacks up against others.

 

 

 

Here is a simple online calculator for adding up the total time.

Bottom right in the windows task bar you will find the Mastercam Event Log. Double click on that ant you will be able to see all your processing times.

Ok, thanks Benk, I just thought there was some way to see it in event viewer without having to add it all up.

Ok, I feel stupid.   Gotta add the times up.

 

That puts me at  5min 25sec

So I am curious about the discrepancies. Some systems that should be going the absolute fastest are producing mediocre times and some that should be going slower are producing very good times. Are there settings that can be tweaked to wring out the best performance possible? From what I see I should be able to wring out about another 1:30 out of this test. Also, we are regenerating all five operations, correct? Maybe turn off hyper-threading?

Re-ran the test this morning and the time came in at 4:07. Regenerated again and it came in at 3:20. Isn't there some sort of log file that needs to be deleted or else future regenerations produce skewed results?
