Update Post and Allowed Edits

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I was wondering if there are any general rules or standards I need to follow when modifying posts to ensure that "Update Post" will transfer them to a newer version?   So far the only thing I have noticed is a change in the post version line.  What usually happens when running this  chook on a highly modified post?

Thanks in advance for any advice,

Dan

Stuff like this;

pparameter$ # Run parameter table
           if opcode$=13 | opcode$=14, result = fprm (opcode$)
           if prmcode$ = 10000, stoper = ucase(sparameter$)
           if prmcode$ = 10055, spostname = ucase(sparameter$)
#CNC<<MSG-ERROR(1523)>> Mastercam MP postblock parameter issue:Parameter number 10055 has been removed <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
#CNC<<MSG-ERROR(1523)>> Refer to data location "pre-X3 ASCII NCI information" <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
#CNC<<MSG-ERROR(1523)>> Refer to the parameter reference documentation or contact your Mastercam dealer for post modifications or replacement <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
           if prmcode$ = 20007, pilot_dia = rpar(sparameter$, 11)
           if stoper=snull, stoper = snullop
           if prmcode$ = 20004, tool_no = rpar(sparameter$, 16)
           if prmcode$ = 15240, opnumber = rpar(sparameter$,1)

It doesn't happen often and it's usually rather easy to fix.
