Suggestion of what machine tool to buy?

Recommended Posts

Hello guys,

My name is Cesar and I am from Concepcion, Chile. I have a company that usually fabricate pieces for the mining and forestry industries. Nowadays I am having a big problem regarding the fabrication of gears, I fabricate this gears in 2 conventional milling machines that have more than 30 years, they do there job but they take too long and also the operator needs to have alot of experience to use them. I want to know if you can recommend me a machine that will help me fabricate the pieces that I attach in a fast way. For this pieces what I usually do is take the material to the conventional lathe and then take it to the milling machine for doing the teeth of the gears, but I want something that can do everything in just one machine. I was looking in the internet and I found the NT 3200 DCG from DMG MORI but also a read alot of bad comments of the brand.

We usually do pieces that are not bigger than 400 mm of diameter and I dont want to spend more than 350k (USD). And also we are use to work with FANUC control. I hope you can help me or give me some ideas where to look.

Best Regards,

Cesar Orellana
