Start cut at z0.

With Mastercam Lathe when I post an OD operation it starts the cut at z-.0046 and not z0. I know this has to do with the tangency to the tnr but I would like to have it post the start of the cut based on the front of the tool, where I touch the tool off. I was wondering if there was any other way to get it to start at z0. other than extending the contour.

Thanks.

Always use a lead-in to start the cut away from the face. This is the proper way to do it to enable the TNR. If you're using a roughing cycle without TNR, make sure your "Clearance Z" field isn't set to zero. Lastly, in the Machine Group Properties under the Tool Settings tab, adjust your "Tool Clearance" values to what you feel is appropriate; make sure they aren't at zero.
