IHS Post G-Codes longer than stock MASTERCAM post, do you know why?

Recommended Posts

Hi Forum,

Suddenly we intend to buy more OLD equipment (around 1995), and I just found out that In House Solutions has longer G-CODEs than the regular post from MASTERCAM.

I went to Machine definition and set at SIGNED RADIUS instead of CENTER TO DELTA for both posts and the result was MASTERCAM post is much shorter.  I've been working with IN HOUSE SOLUTION for such a long time and I would like the G-CODES as short as the MASTERCAM's.  Do guys have any solution?

Below here is the sample code from Mastercam post, thanks for your help.

It would be a lot easier to figure out why if you posted a piece of code from BOTH posts rather than just one post.. what you gave is only one piece of the puzzle..

Or better yet a sample file and even a .z2g so we can do what you should be asking your dealer about help for.

Not Saying, but Saying.

Most likely you want to look at the break arc settings, I believe the default is set to break arc at quadrants for mpmaster machine definition.

That would give you 3 extra lines of code for every full circle.

Hello Allan,

   In arc breaks, I set:

ALLOW 360 DEGREE ARCS (Checked Mark)

   DON'T BREAK ARCS

In the ARC CENTER TYPE, I set:

     XY PLANE: SIGNED RADIUS

     XZ PLANE: SIGNED RADIUS

     YZ PLANE: SIGNED RADOIS

In the HELIX SUPPORT, I chose:

     ONLY IN XY PLANE

And the code shown on the previous respond.

Thank you for your respond, Allan.
