Our center director once said "If you want to get stuff into space. You go and talk to Johnson and Kennedy. If you want to get the thing home you have to talk to Ames."

 

Reentry systems is not the most glamorous of all the specialties but damn is it important.

The larger guy at 1:22 when he first started working here had a huge gash out of his head. It was an abscess that exploded and created a crater right the center of his forehead.

 

Kinda wished he would put a bandaid on that thing so nobody has to see it.

 

The dollar was a good luck charm. They were trying to get a valve to open and were seeing if it could be bribed.
