Tool re-arrange

Recommended Posts

Hello forum,

I often have this issue while I'm posting OP2 and the tools number followed as I program:

Supposed I have op1 like this

T1 - TOOL A

T2 - TOOL B

T3 - TOOL C

T4 - TOOL D

T5 - TOOL E

T6 - TOOF F

Now.... on the op2, in the program sequence it is like this:

T6 - TOOF F

T4 - TOOL D

T2 - TOOL B

T5 - TOOL E

T1 - TOOL A

T3 - TOOL C

then I would like it to be in order like 1,2,3,4,4,6

and do a tool count, like this

This OP2 has = 6 TOOLS

so the setup man don't have to count to ensure how many tools he has as usual he does when the tools number jump around like that.

Please help, give me some hints.  I know I've been asking so many questions but I don't know then I admit it that I don't know and learn from people who have good knowledge like you guys.

Thank you for your help.

      if ntools$ = 1, scomm_str, "Total tool for ", *stoolplname, " is: ", *ntools$, " tool", scomm_end, e$ =====> Just add this line and you'll see it

Re-arranging tools is possible, you need to use buffer files to do it.. its not simple .. but there is already an example of how to do it on here..  you do know there is a search function on this forum.. right?

I used the following to create the same logic for the post I currently use for all of our machines .. it not only gives the tools in numerical order, it also posts out whether or not the tool uses comp and what type of comp the tool is programmed with control / wear.. pretty cool if you ask me.

Anyhow.. here is a link to how to re-arrange your tool numbers.. its a lot of work.. but its possible..  make sure to use the updated version from this thread.. the first one doesn't have the updates in it..

Thank you DJSTEDMAN,  it's a big tip for me.  I will put it in my post.  Once again, thank you.
