Machining 2 passes with Lead In/lead Out at start and end only

I have always used this same technique for using the contour feature to engrave letters with branch points (without lead in/out). This prevents the tool from jumping up for every leg of letters. For ex...The letter A has 4 legs. By back tracking on legs you keep the tool down to get to the next leg.

Thanks for posting the video.  I never noticed the WAIT option before.

If not using cutter comp, it is possible to do it with Multipass.  With cutter comp, this will gouge on the second pass.

Multipass: 0 Rough, 2 Finish,  0 Spacing, Keep Tool Down

Lead In/Lead Out:  Enter first depth cut only,  Exit last depth cut only

You can use this to cut a key seat from a single line. Chain it in and chain it out.

If you want to get fancy you can also edit the chain in chain manager to alter the feed rate going verses coming out.

I like to use transform in z for depth passes when needed. This way you only have to edit the feed rate on the chain once and ALL your in feeds and out feeds will be different.

Save two hours of cycle time recently from another guys point tool path at the same feed everywhere.

You are all welcome.....of course this is nothing earth shattering but "IF" this little tip can help someone along the way, then it's a good thing   :)
