X8 - Opti-Core and Stock Setup

This may be a dumb question, but Is there a way for an opti-core tool path to recognize the stock setup for a material boundary? I have always used geometry to describe the stock size.

 

EDIT: Title should say Stock Setup and I cannot figure out how to change it.

Crickets?  I am assuming this cannot be done?

If you mean using letting Opti-Core recognize the stock setup as the Stock matierial, the direct answer is no, but you can create a Stock Model that reads the  stock setup and use the stock model in your tool path as stock material.  If you are referring to a containment boundary, the answer is no, but Mastercam will automatically generate a boundary if you do not give it one.  For open core milling this usually works pretty well.

Thanks John.  I see that the 2D High Speeds recognizes the stock setup material.  Was curious if 3D could behave the same way.

Try X9, the 2D Highspeed stock recognition is vastly improved.

We have X9 but I am in the middle of a few projects that were started in X8 and would rather just finish them in X8.
