3d contour with arcs

Gentlemen,

I'm at a point I've not come to in a while and can't remember how I overcame it.  I'm trying to create a 3d contour with the tool control at center.  Whenever I use filtering the arc flattens to G17XY plane.  You can tell from the picture what I want it to do.  When I let it linearize I get the path I want.  However, I really want to use arcs for this path.  I went into control def and arcs are supported in all 3 planes.

Any suggestions?

Diggin up bones here.

I can not get this dang 3d arc box to stay checked to save my life.  New part style in the same family as when I originally posted this.  I want to run a 3d contour and get arcs.  What am I doing wrong here guys?

It is a wireframe path, "2D" geo driving a 3d contour.  I can't get the 3d arcs check box to stay checked.

Kids these days. There is a group of paths called Wireframe. Right click in the operation manager, select Mill Toolpaths and go down to the bottom.

Will it allow me to use cutter comp?

Not in XY, but anything will let you use cutter comp in Z which is what will effect your surface, if I'm correctly understanding what you're trying to do.

Try Toolpaths, Wireframe, Swept 2D (you can still get there by right-clicking in the ops manager) :

The only drawback I see is it's limited to zigzag; it doesn't have a one-way option.

I think it's the "Swept2R" Chook that will take a wireframe path and change it from zig zag to cutting in one direction.

You are correct! Swept2R is your friend ;)  Just make sure you backplot your toolpath afterward. I've seen some weird results from time to time.
