X9 Engraving issue

Today I'm trying to create an engraving tool path but I'm getting a "No toolpath written" alarm. I unistalled and reinstalled the software with no success. I've tried importing a X9 engraving operation with no success but when I open that file and regen the engraving it works ok. I'm up to date with the software but I can't honestly say that I've used engraving in this version. Most of our manifolds have engraving so it's hard to believe I haven't.

 

Any ideas?

I just tried it in X9. No issues I see ....yet.

I'm copying an old part that didn't have the engraved letters modeled in so we used contour instead of engrave. The engraving tool was an "undefined" tool. I changed it to an "Engrave Tool" and now it works. That's a bad alarm note for a tool issue.

I was going ask why are you using the engraving option instead of contour for most engraving?

Visually the engraving operation makes numbers/letters much crisper. I love the sharp corners engraving makes.
