Data/File Management Solution

I wanted to get an idea of what others are doing to manage their data. Between the .mcx files, the .nc file, tool libraries, solids and post files, things get a little crazy. What have you found that works well. I am looking at a few software options and even visiting the idea of putting something together my self. Solidworks pdm works great, but the cost is a little to much for the outcome. I have seen people put together software using filemaker pro but i'm not sure if that is too involved for me right now. Anything you guys have found that is simple and low cost?

I second the Cimco solutions. Both NCBase and MDM are cost effective.

I have a large local company utilising NCBase, and they really like it.

Cimco also provide very good support. I have heard Jay Kramer comes very highly recommended in the USA :)

MDM is purely based on File Management.and has option when connected to our MDC to do communications directly from the Data base.

On our NC-base, this is a really nice tool for controlling revs of NC Programs and you can add files to the file structure so that every thing is located under that NC Program and can be viewed in the NC-Base. it also runs in our Editor Pro giving more options and tools.

If you want to talk with one of us give the Cimco Americas office a call to talk with you more about the differences and help you decide what might be the best option for your company.
