Q. Is Mastercam an application with native support for
computers with dual processors (multi-processing)?
A. No.
In order to successfully (in a stable manner consistently) run
Mastercam in a multiple CPU environment, you must set the affinity. To do
this you first MUST be running Windows NT4.0, Windows 2000
Professional or Windows XP Professional all other Windows OSes do not
support multi-threading if you do not meet this criteria you might as well
spend a few more bucks and go get Win2k Pro (my personal favorite). Now,
launch Mastercam, then minimize it. Launch the Task manager (you may need
Power User or Administrator level access to do this so be sure you do), then
go to the Processes Page. Right click on Mill9.exe and go to Affinity, and
set it to run on CPU1 (or what ever CPU you choose, CPU1 is preferable over
CPU0 because CPU0 is handling most of the load). Minimize the Task Manager
and Maximize Mastercam and off you go.

Q. How do I change my Member Level, or add an image (Avatar)?
A. Member Levels are based on the number of messages you post:
0 - New Member
11 - Member
500 - Senior Member
[At 1000
posts, we may even throw some swag your way!!]
CNC Software employees and Mastercam Resellers are
exempt from the Member Levels and may have their company name
displayed rather than a Level.
The privilege of having a custom Avatar is granted at
200 posts. This applies to both end users and resellers. Employees
of In-House Solutions and CNC Software are the only
exceptions, and may have their appropriate company logo displayed as
an Avatar.
You may send in your max 96 x 96 pixel image to the
Webmaster, along with company name and SIM number to validate your
status as a licensed user.

Q. Why does my cursor disappear on Mastercam's black background?
A. The exact cause of this bug is unknown.
However, this behavior has only been known to occur
on computers running Windows 9x/ME with the following video
chipsets:
nVidia GeForce2 MX
nVidia GeForce2 MX 200
nVidia GeForce2 MX 400
No problems have been reported with the nVidia GeForce4 MX series of chipsets. nVidia's MX lines
are low-end chipsets and are not recommended for advanced 3D applications
such as Mastercam. nVidia's other GeForce chipsets, as well as the more
expensive Quadro line, is not affected by this bug and is recommended.
