When you're jumping around too as many different customers and places as I am a Laptop is really my only choice.
  3. I need to iterate through the string names of parts to deduce the type of material then select the appropriate sheet size and add the appropriate trim and pin holes (for the flip) and drafting notes. I am also hoping to shuffle the part priority and angle to best optomize the nesting
  4. This add on is working great now, it is saving me loads of time, although I have a few enhancement requests,I will be switching my focus to my nethook nesting in c++/cli, hopefully that can get me and my colleagues out of these 60+ hours a week of programming!
  5. Cool, I will update my functions accordingly, thanks for the lesson Roger! I will follow your examples closely.

  7. Instead of you stepping though all of the entities, let Mastercam do that work for you. get_raw_ent is just like get_ent, except you can control whether of not the entities must be visible to be "seen" by the get functionality. Both only retrieve ALIVE entities of the requested type. std::vector<DB_LIST_ENT_PTR> GetAllSolids () { std::vector<DB_LIST_ENT_PTR> dblistptrvector; auto onlyVisible = false; auto succf = false; ent entity; DB_LIST_ENT_PTR foundPtr; DB_LIST_ENT_PTR eptr = db_start; do { get_raw_ent (onlyVisible, &eptr, &foundPtr, &entity, 0, SOLID_ID, &succf); if (succf) { if (sel_bit_is_off (&entity, BLANK_BIT)) { dblistptrvector.push_back (foundPtr); } } } while (succf); if (!dblistptrvector.empty ()) { repaint_graphics (); } return dblistptrvector; }

    Machsim MCAM2020

oh bummer, i thought that would do it because it helped with a mach sim issue that i had today that was very similar to what you described, sorry i couldn't be more help, im sure cnc will have you an answer if you sent it there, have a good night.

For the cost of a decent laptop you can have two desktops that work better, one for at work and one for at home. Choose your processor based on this benchmark: https://www.cpubenchmark.net/singleThread.html Get a decent Quadro if you can afford it, but in my experience unless you're working on huge models Mastercam works fine on GeForce gaming cards. A $300 GeForce card will be way better than a $300 Quadro if you're budget constrained.

    Machsim MCAM2020

Hi Jparis, i think your dogleg settings do that, to change them see below, there is an article on this in the Knolwegebase if you search Dogleg, this should fix that mach sim issue and this problem can also cause a verify issue too. Go to the machine tab Choose machine definition Check out of the warning that appears, then the machine definition will open Click edit control definition Go to the linear page Choose Linear Interpolate at maximum feed rate for your rapid motion.

    Machsim MCAM2020

Am I the only one that has seen Machsim become utterly useless in 2020? It's not tied to my post but in versions since X9 I have been able to use it to check my part and tooling clearances, I have been setting a high Z retract to not have to worry about rotary interferences... in 2020 it consistently mills through parts reporting no crashes...these are movements that are not going to happen in reality, Like this, it's utterly useless to me

Milling ops are fine, in fact the following op is a peck drill and it works fine.

Is the dynamic milling data base dead?

its no longer maintained by anyone as far as i know, here is a backup of it i had saved at some point https://fastechincorporated-my.sharepoint.com/:x:/g/personal/support_fastechinc_net/EQwI1ZclyWxDntF0fW5_bP0BHapI3NL2UjMcCWAMLNpOWg?e=pR1um4

I've had very good success with the FS Wizard feed speed calculator

Haas 617 alarm missing adress code

My search results are saying that a 617 error, on a mill, is a motor overheat alarm. It's only a missing address on a lathe. Does it only happen on drill ops? Milling ops are fine? If so, it is obviously not this. If milling ops are giving the same alarm, you my need to reset a breaker in the electric cabinet.

I'm going to think that you checked that you are in G94 fpm mode??? If that's what you need.

I'd make sure there isn't anything unexpected in your output, maybe open the .nc file with a hex editor?

Haas 617 alarm missing adress code

That was a mistake, forgot to change it on the operation, but it also happens on spot drilling
