  3. I thought you could pick from the drop down in old BIG_INCH, but I have carried the old from version to version for close to 10 years since it was obsoleted. If not then yes you will have to create your own tap.

  8. I'd really need some more specifics of what you are trying to measure. Just the "diameter" of the counterbore (0.57186 hole), or are you trying to gauge "rotation" of the features in that pocket? I do not see a single "straight wall" in that pocket, just a series of tangent arcs, and the two "ramped surfaces" at the X- and X+ ends. Are you trying to determine the "size" of those features, or the angular rotation of the pocket as a whole? To determine "size", I'd suggest running a "3-point Bore" (O9823) Macro, on each of the 4 Lobes, at the pocket corners. You must perform "Vector Calibration", to have success measuring bores "not at the quadrant positions". An example, would be the lobe in the X+ Y+ quadrant. You could use A30., B60., and C90., to make 3 hits on that radius. (See Variable Outputs - Chart 2 > #188 = "feature size", in this case "diameter".) You could then save that output (#621 = #188), after executing the cycle, and then repeat the process, on the other 3 lobes, using #622 = #188, #623 = #188, and #624 = #188), where you are placing that equation just after each cycle being executed, to capture the results, for each probing cycle. NOTE: be sure you are cancelling "Block Lookahead", otherwise you won't get correct results. To cancel "lookahead", place > "G103 P1", just ahead of the equation. The G65 P9833 call should turn "lookahead back on". It doesn't hurt to place a "G103" on a line afterwards, just to be sure it is enabled. The code below only shows execution of a single cycle. You'd need to repeat this in at the 3 other lobes, and save #188 results to a unique variable. Then, afterwards, you can compare the results, and make a judgement on "do you need to adjust Cutter Radius Compensation values to make the feature "on size". G65 P9832 G65 P9810 X25. Y40.   9. Hi Peter, I understand your concerns. I also happen to disagree. Perhaps labeling him as "a pirate" was too strong, and objectively some good advice. However, having been at this for many years, it becomes easier to recognize the patterns that people display. Not providing a Hasp Number, License Number, or Company/Reseller information, is a huge red flag. How can we know if he is a customer, if that information won't be divulged? This was requested in a Private Message, and we're not asking people to display that information publicly. We are under no obligation to help someone who refuses to play by the rules In-House has set for participation in this forum. My "benefit of the doubt" only goes so far. All Romek would have to do is verify with In-House that they have a legitimate license, and I'd happily retract my statements and apologise personally. However, I have never, not once, seen a legitimate customer who refuses to engage with their reseller (the way Romek did) or provide some way to verify their legitimacy, when challenged. On the flip side, I've seen plenty of illegitimate users, who make every excuse in the book as to why they can't provide information to identify that they are a legal customer, as they make demands of the users on this forum to provide them with free help. The "proof" is in the behavior, and as JP mentioned: "I'm surprised it took as long as it did but good".

  13. During machine simulation I'm getting an axis overrun in the y-axis but the machine is not near the travel limits. Where are the axis limits being pulled from for the simulation? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  14. The 12th gen are nice but they come with the headache of managing the thermal loads on this thing because Intel did not do a good job with it. I built mine with a 480 radiator AIO and lots of case fans and I still cannot run prime without it thermal locking the performance of the cores. I am not to concerned about running some of these benchmarking programs because mastercam never uses what I allocate it but if I were to use this computer for other stuff I'd probably wait for the tick/tock on this chip. I will say though that verify is somewhat tolerable now with this system. I am just waiting for someone to make 64gb DDR5 ram packs to really boost my build.

  17. it needs to stay in the pocket, that code makes it come up and out of the pocket, then when it goes down it gives the "unexpected surface" alarm. Ill have to try that when I got more time. Thank you!

  19. If you need to probe a pocket, you feed to the desired depth with your protected move and remove the Z depth call in the measurement cycle. Otherwise it will treat it as a web.

  22. I said this before but maybe worth saying again... 12th gen intels are a huge step in performance over previous gens, more than we've seen recently. DDR5 RAM and PCIe 4.0 help a ton. A Benchmark 3.0 time with a similar system above, 2:09 !!! I'm running a high end 10th gen system and I'm a minute slower. That's a massive gain! ...so ya, that setup will be good!
  23. I'd assume (and you know what they say about that..) that NPlus is probably a nACRo or nACo, which from my understanding is basically a nano version of the AlCrN coating. I know that it is harder (as in, cuts & wears better) than traditional AlCrN, but I don't have any real data to back that up.

  25. Something about this post bothers me... Where is the proof he is a pirate? Not providing your sim doesn't equate to that... For example, not all end users are allowed to share their Sim, and this sites operator is not necessarily their reseller, I am sure there could be other reasons as well,

I just got the lower tier of that same system (Precision 3660) a couple days ago, Nvidia RTX A2000 instead of your A4000, half the ram, half the HD space and an i7 instead of an i9 I couldn't be happier with it. I think the RTX series video card makes a huge difference. One thing you should be aware of though, I had to go in to the Nvidia Control Panel and set the "OpenGL REndering GPU" from Auto Select to Nvidia RTX A2000. Right now I have a model of a fixture up on the screen, with 5 part models, 5 clamps, screws, washers, pushers... Even with Translucency turned on I'm flipping this model around looking at it from all angles and it's so fast and smooth. It used to look like I was watching a slow flip book animation.
