End Mill Question

I have a customer looking for 4mm and 6mm HSS Endmill that are highly balanced for a 40,000 rpm spindle. Do any of you know of such an animal? If so what name brand and type? They are machining a hole in a piece of foam.

I would think Harvey Tool would have something.

You typically balance a tool assembly not a singular tool.

Does Harvey even do steel?  I thought they were 100% carbide.

In foam, sure.  Need that razor sharp edge.  Kinda niche though.

If you can't find HSS, try polished, uncoated carbide designed for aluminum.  That's about as sharp as you can get in carbide.

Thanks for the info!! I think the polished carbide for alum will be best. They were going HSS for weight reduction.

Haimer has setscrews you add per the balancer readout. It's also an expensive Machine

They also have a ring to put on regular holders that accept setscrews. Is it safe to assume the customer has an er 16 or 20 spindle?
