Hole making enhancments

Hello People,

Is it me or does this new """ enhancement """ in 2020 make things much more time consuming ?

Should have left it alone as a mult axis  feature.

??

That's one enhancement that doesn't trip me up at all...

Not really sure why it would...should only get changed to something different than 3 axis when you're using it on a 4th or 5th axis...

Curious as to what's causing you issues?

Exactly.

I program 4 & 5 axis mills with no issues and have never needed to use the multi axis feature to do this.

With 2020 I opened a 5 axis program "made with 2019" to make some modifications and save it as to not lose the changes.

When I go to post it out, it will not go past the 1st operation.

I receive "Error-the tool can not be positioned within machine rotary limits"

I changed the enhancements to 5 axis and now everything  comes from the top plane.

If you're just tool plane positioning.....and not needing to use 5 axis drill....

You just program the ops using the planes as always and leave the drilling set to 3 axis....the planes handle the tilts...or maybe I'm missing something

That is what I thought.

I changed to a different 5 axis post and it worked fine.

Went back to the post I need and it said I was stupid again.

Possible Machine/post confusion?

Or is there any parameter to hook up value from  Bolt Circle.

Looks correct to me. 8 holes with the start angle at 0.

Start hole is actually #2...

Basic math that was already done in the dialog box. 360/8 is 45 degrees.

The Start hole in that back plot is #1 and the angle between #1 and #2 is 45 degrees. It should start at 3 on a clock face why your back plot shows it starting at 1:30 is odd unless that was where you picked it when you made your drilling operation. Here is a screen shot of a bolt hole circle and you can see the Arrow showing the start hole at 3 or X+. You have to manually adjust the start angle in the dialog or dynamically adjust using the center rotate dynamic option.
