drilling many holes

Hello all. trying to figure out the best way to set up drilling multiple holes in flat plates. 1/4" holes on 3/8" centers on a plate 24" x 18".

would window points work if so how do I do that? I tried it but it is no selecting.

Make sure it's in 3d selection, no that's for contours..

 

 

Click and drag a window over the points.

 

Or you can use mask on arc dia

Could drill one point then do a transform toolpath for all the rest.

Make sure you have points and many ways to create them. There is a chook called Pts2arcs. That might be the fastest way to do what your after without a lot of extra work.

I CTRL+Click the wall of the hole to select all matching diameters (within tolerance set), or CTRL+Shift click for all matching diameters on that plane in case you have cross holes of the same size that you dont want to also include. 

CTRL+ Click the wall is my favorite method, it will use the tolerance setting in drill point selection window under a downward pointing arrow.
