Boring from center out

Is it possible to rough bore by having MC cut from the center out feeding on X, and having the step over on Z?  I hope that makes sense.  I remember doing it back in the X5 days, but I haven't been able to replicate it.  It would help us a lot sometimes.

Circle mill. Roughing will set the X stepover & depth cuts will set the Z steps.

Like this?  I reversed the chain, and selected Rough Direction/Angle as shown in jpeg image below.

Why I like Mastercam sometimes not as obvious, but more than likely there is a way to bend it to your will for any machine for any process.

I spent a good amount of time figuring this out a few years ago, but then I've never had to use it again, so I forgot.  Its one of those things that you have to try different combinations of settings until it does what you want.  Lucky me that this forum exist.
