anyone know why  Rego-fix step files import as pancakes?4563.71090.stp

They are not oriented properly in Mastercam space

I've never had much luck with RegoFix stp files.

They are too busy to make good tool holders.

I orient them properly, do a "curve slice" and use the resulting wireframe as a

holder definition

I dumb them down using Model Prep and remove the HSK from them and they come in just fine after being put in the proper model space. Cool thing is I can then use the same holder for CAV if I need to.

this would be the same holder defined as a Mastercam file with wireframe

it is in Top plane looking at the entire holder

you can select the file.. or save the wire to a level in your file and define the folder from that

regofix wire.zip

I prefer wire for RegoFix as you still need to add the collet to this holder,

something I haven't done in either of these samples
