COPY REMACHINING OP

I tried copying a remachining op in MC2020. The original worked fine. I assigned a new plane to the new op and regenerated. No matter what I tried it would not create a tool path. I had to delete the copy and create a whole new op in order to get a tool path. HMMMM

Is it using nci from op or tool diameter?

Not untypical. Does this op have a "restore defaults" or "save to defaults" dialog as in 3d High speed?

If so I have had luck using the restore defaults to nudge it out of its rut. Often have to start from scratch

Yes there are few instances of this and frustrating every time you ruin into it. Normally I can copy with no problems, but sometimes have to do exactly what you just had to do.

Yeah. The most frustrating is the hour of WTF's.

I have ran into this in 2019. If I get computation error I turn off my arc filters and try again. Then I will change my stepdown by .001 to change the math. If it still does it, I delete and re-import or copy another op that is working. Once you run into it a few times, you learn the signs.

It is just a 2d contour remachining path.

What are you using, previous tools or CAD file for your rest material?

Try CAD file. Just run the simulation up to the previous OP and save the .stl and use that.

Yeah. that was one of the first things I tried. No luck.
