Wear comp with tools near hole size

I could attach more examples but it doesn't look like you want that (btw its pretty much the same for all holes). And thats 1-64 threads to 2" npt holes in various materials. The only thing that changes is the goofy tools we use on different holes.

So the best cycle combination is the most inefficient, Mcam 2021 update?  Hope so.....

Just add a checkbox "Chip clearing" Or a field for "radius sweep angle" for gentle entry into the cut.

Again, reach out to your reseller of QC at Mastercam dot com...that's how change gets implemented

FYI I don't use the rough cuts, I put a zero on that parameter.  I only use finish passes.  Why?  I don't remember exactly, but when I used rough passes it did some funky stuff that I didn't like.

I do the same. I usually do 2 passes per hole and my threadmills are conventional cutters so they all cut top down instead of bottom up.

Any way to force it to stay down with multi passes?

What exactly do you mean "stay down"?  The way I do it it stays down, it doesn't rapid out of the hole.  It goes to the point where the tool clears the part, then it goes back down.

Perhaps you can post a file?

It might be possible to have a Post Edit do this for you. What does the NCI output look like?

These settings make the path move left on the red line, then back to center, then arc smoothly into the cut.

I'm not sure if this is sufficient to satisfy wear comp on this control I haven't tested it.
