TAP CYCLE

Good afternoon. I have a question about tapping cycle. For some reason the rigid tapping cycle is not always an option when I am trying to tap holes. Most times it only gives me the option of tap G84-G74 and the peck box is able to be modified. I guess on some things pecking would be a good option but with 384 holes on a program I'd rather not.  Any help would be appreciated.

Do you have two different cycles? If it is grayed out for one use that for not pecking.

I only have one cycle option. I think if I put 0 in the peck box it will take the Q# out.

Who built the post? what is the machine your trying to tap on capable of doing? That is what should be commicnauted to the post builder so those option can be incorporated in your post.

So is the problem you don't want to change 340 operations? It seems if you simply put zero in there it willl do what you want

You can make a second drill cycle with the miscellaneous extra drill cycle that way one cycle will peck tap in one cycle or regular tap and you can gray out the box for regular tapping.

 

Your post probably has something like this in the drill cycle [if peck$>0*peck] That's not exact but something it might look like

It kind of sounds like you're using different machines with different control definitions which is why the field may be grayed out on some.

That's really the only explanation I think there can be based on your description
