Tool path trim not working

I am in a lathe definition using a mill waterline tool path in the right tool plane.  I have a box drawn in front view were I want to trim the tool path out of.   I select trim, then select my box and then nothing happens.   The trim tool path is in the op manager with no geometry selected.   As soon as I click on anything in the op manager the trim tool path disappears.....

Anyone seen this?

Sounds like a conflicting plane selection. Can you make a boundary like you want and use it to restrict your toolpath verse coming back and using trim? Maybe even a boundary shape to use as avoidance to accomplish the same task? I don't like using trim on surface toolpaths. I like to use boundaries or surfaces for that. I use trim for contour toolpaths only if I use it. I want exact control on my contour toolpath when taking depths of cut or multi passes and it is doing air cuts I take the trim and draw my chains and trim and control everything. I get what I want because I take the time to make what I want.
