So I have ran it both ways. With R and I,J,K values. Still no luck. I aslo checked the control and contacted Fanuc. They told me to check Parameters 4310 and gave me some recomendations. Tried that. Still no luck.

Harrison, this is a Daewoo Lynx 210A with a Fanuc i-Series control. Its a great machine. Dont know why I am struggling so bad :(

There is another way to aproach the programming by replacing the G2/G3  with G1. In order for it to be accurate you would have to know the intersection co-ord of the straight sections and then have enough room for the rad to complete

Normal point to point:

G0 X1.0 Z.05

G1 Z-.25

G1 X1.25

G1 Z-.5

With rads

G0 X1.0 Z.05

G1 Z-.25 R.03

G1 X1.25 R.03

G1 Z-.5

i am thinking it's more to do with the age of the software than the machine.

If I remember correctly X3 was extremely buggy.

Does this control let you set a tool orientation?

You know, leading edge in a particular quadrant? If so, I wonder if that definition might be off?

I'm grasping here lol

I work for Doosan ( God, I hate when our machines are called Daewoo) Yes, you must define the tool in the control as to side of cut and orientation and actual TNR. Obviously, the TNR must be defined in Mastercam too.

How would I set the side of the tool to cut on? Never seen this before.

i have a 19 DNV4500 ❤️❤️❤️❤️ That machine! It’s awesome

I'm a mill guy but I will give it a shot. In the tool geometry page, there should be a narrow column labelled "T" I think. It is usually a number from 1-6 or 1-8, I forget. The attached pic shows the concept. This must match your chosen tool.

That is interesting. I do have that column. I suppose I should choose #8? Because I am cutting with both sides no?

I don't know how to quote 2 people in the same post but see what JParis says too. He's most likely right for this scenario. It's not whether you are cutting on both sides but where the programmed position of the tool is, especially where Mastercam thinks the position of the tool is. Usually, this must match the setting you pick in your CAM software. There will be times depending on the part and tool and what you are trying to accomplish that will require lying to this tool setting. Lathes, like mills, are fickle beasts. If you email me at [email protected] I can send you a pretty comprehensive programming manual for our lathes.

Is that the one Tim Markoski came up with when we worked for them?

We had a number of uses in the past few days using pirated sims, so you shouldn't be offended, that a request was made to verify your legitimacy, have a nice day.

He is coding person and it is a reference to a byte of memory on a computer. He is a great member of the community so how about getting to know some people before slamming him.

He is correct pirates have been infesting the waters of late and he is just learning how that works around here. I have been in the waters a lot longer than him and doing programming more years than he has been alive so I really appreciate his enthusiasm and care to make this place something.

Take my name crazy to the a higher power millman. I was called crazy and insane coming up in shops for daring to try new things and question the status quo in most places. Then I got into 5 Axis and started doing really crazy things with machines. Then mill/Turns and other things. People have gone to Space on my work and worked on some programs for some very high profile companies. I say what I mean and do my best to do what I say. I will help anyone willing to help themselves, but go no problem telling someone no and they need to wait. People using the software illegally hurt my way to earn a living so sorry if I come across like an arse hole, but if I invested my time and money into being legal coming from nothing without a degree then others can too.

Understood. And I can see kind of how he came about with that name. But I would have picked Bytes or Mega Byte instead of byte Me. Kind of derogatory no?

Whatever I dont care. The guy struck me as a jerk because he offered no insight on my problem. Just wanted to stir the pot. So I called him out on it.

He has had 10 different names in the last month and each of them have already been used by him in the last year or so. From what I can tell he is great person so like I suggested get to know him and see what he has given to the Mastercam community before writing him off, but to each their own.
