Someone recently recommended changing a registry value to prevent crashing. I did this a few days ago and Mastercam has only crashed once in the last 3 days instead of 3 or 4 times a day. Thank you!

Me as well. I have 3 Mastercam files open all over 1gb and not one crash. Vericut is also running some large files in the background and right now everything is stable.

I wish I had vericut. I have used it before. It is very nice.

Read up a little bit on this variable. The max allowable value is 64000.  I tried to run it with a value of 40 000, but it had detrimental  effect on  MC . The opening of the chaining menu slows down among other negative stuff.

Also Mcam would suddenly crash even if nothing was being done on the screen. So 20000 it is for now....

20000 has been rock solid for me so I am not touching a thing. Now if I can get Windows to quit updating in the middle of the night when I have a 30 hour Vericut session running killing all my work about half way through even though paused updates was activate then I would be even happier. 😟

Can you unplug the internet cable or disable wifi if not needed ? This should suppress the Windows updates.

Nope only one computer to run the business and do other things related to programming. I don't have the extra money to push a system off line for programming, but looking like that day will have to come in the future.

I believe if you just tell windows update that you're on a metered connection, it will only check for updates when you hit the "check for updates" button, but you will still receive "critical" security updates.. Whatever Microsoft deems a "critical."   They pinky-promise to not abuse that, though :)

Here's the first link I found on setting a metered connection, no affiliation, etc.. : https://www.howtogeek.com/226722/HOW-WHEN-AND-WHY-TO-SET-A-CONNECTION-AS-METERED-ON-WINDOWS-10/
