Hello Community,

What are misc values in the post processor?

When do we use them?

When do we not use them?

#1 Answered above

#2 When appropriate based on the post writers defined usage

#3 When not appropriate based on the post writers defined usage.

Thanks.

So you've used all of your integers and reals.

Did you create these values in the 'text' section of your control definition?

If so, after making those entries, did you have to edit your .pst file?

For example, one of your values is a switch for G68 - there must be some type of 'if statement' in your post:

'if this variable = 1, then this variable = G68"

Are these assumptions correct?

I realize we cannot display the actual .pst code on this site for proprietary reasons.

Thanks for your time.

Yes your assumption is correct.

I wrote most of the text before there was a control definition but with XML now being used it's easier to go through the control definition.

I'm moving out of the dark ages and starting to utilize probing for setting up and tool breakage detection.

Currently I'm just entering the code manually after the last operation of the tool I want checked.

I read Bob's last post and it sounds like he's using integers/reals for tool breakage code.

I'm sure there is a good reason but can someone explain how that works?

We have the Productivity+ add on, I don't use it. I don't need 1500 lines of additional code just to pick up a circle, not to mention all of the sub programs it spits out. I do it the old school way using regular tool paths, 2D contour and drill, and the misc values to generate the code, outputting the standard Renishaw format:

G65 P9510 Z-.2275 F50.
G65 P9511 X0. S1

The only problem is that you don't see the true probe motion, but that's ok. Here's how mine looks:
