Old version help--errror code

I lost my hard drive and reinstalled v6.13 but the hasp 60.exe shows it as "unitialized version" and it comes up with a communication error, then sim not found. Any suggestions other than upgrading my version?

As in a 25+ year old version of Mastercam? Sorry not sure what to tell you. Wow amazing you have been able to keeping running his long.

When you reinstalled did you keep the same OS or go with something newer?

We kept Windows XP.

I went ahead and installed version 9 which we bought just for file conversions and it runs fine. I noticed that the version 9 autoplayed to install, but version 6 did not. We have upgraded to 2020, but there is going to be a learning curve so we need to use v6 until that takes place.

Best of luck and if you need help let us know. V9 was a good version surprised you guys didn't at least jump to that version.

I have a Dual Boot Tower that still has XP and Windows 7 on it. I have not fired it up in 4 or 5 years, but last time I did it worked like a champ. It is an old Dell T5400 Tower. I think it has a whopping 32gb of RAM in it and a Xeon Processor. Part of that always having or getting at least what the company has or better I have done for a long time. The 3 year warranty ran out on it in 2011. I think it was over $4k when I bought it.

I would look on the X6 install discs for a Prerequisites or Driver installation utility

Many of the installation chores that are performed automatically  today were manual operations today

There may also be a Common folder  that has been installed along with X6 that will have HASP driver installs

He is asking about V6 before V9 why they still has an Xp box and still in 32 bit land.

V5 ran on Win 3.1.

I think V6 ran on Win95

Got it.

When I installed V6 after the fresh XP load, I chose the wrong sim type. Could not find where to change it so I just reinstalled XP and v6. Works great now.
