PROTECTIVE MOVE

Recommended Posts

Hello Everyone,

I am using probe now and my question is "do I have to put a "PROTECTIVE MOVE" in every move or just once is enough?  See below.  Thankful for the help.

Once it comes down from Home....

All positions except those moves that are expected to trigger the probe should be protected moves.

You mean like this?

So above is corrected then, right?

No even the Z2.0 move should be protected. The idea is if the probe hits something it stops. Yes you could be near an overhand or the probe position near something you didn't expect and if ti hit then the machine will not tear up the until and keep going. I have crashed two probes making that mistake.

I set a probe flag.

In prapid out I told it if probe flag equals 1 and tool number = 60 and drill cycle greater than 7 use protected position cycle.

It outputs like this. So ever move is protected except for the initial. I can change that as well except we haven't really needed to yet.
