Heidenhain tool Def

I got the Heidenhain conversational post from the Mastercam library. Everything seem to work fine except for one line of Code

 

TOOL DEF 5 L0.0 R0.188

this line keeps throwing an error of incorrect syntax. I don't know why it is wrong. It looks exactly like the books that we got with the machine. Anyone have any ideas.

Have you tired no spaces? Made sure the EOB (End of Block) condition is correct?

You should disable this line in your post.  If you don't know, this line will pass info to the control about the length and radius of the tool.

Unless you have some old machine with an old HH , L and R of the tool are handled by the control central tool library. So outputting these values might be prohibited by the control. Nowdays TOOL DEF is only used for tool staging. But the format is TOOL DEF  5 and no other info is output.
