5 Axis slit saw/slot Mill Issues.

Good day everyone.

I need some help and any suggestions are appreciated.

I’m trying to cut the groove (Circled in yellow) with a slit saw.

You will notice the shape of said groove, and it will require a five axis toolpath to do it. I’m not having any luck. I’ve tried 5 axis curve and multisurface algorithms with no luck. I’ll be trying others later. I’m hoping this groove I CAD modeled is machinable. (Fortunately its a training exercise and not a real part.)

I don't think it is possible to cut this accurately with a slitting saw.

You are correct impossible shape to cut with a slitting saw. Will need a Right Angle head to cut that Id shape is trying to mill it.

Good effort has been made, but the back of the slitting saw is going to wipe out anything the tool cuts by the very nature of its shape. Where a Right angle head would be best in a case like this.
