Dimensioning Arc Length

Say you were dimensioning a rolled or curved piece and someone wanted to know the length in the flat, or dimensioning a thin skin on a frame and need to know the length in the flat. I'm pretty sure you can do this in ACAD and I though this was possible in a previous version in MCAM. I could analyze the arc and type something in as a note but seems cumbersome.
