Why can't I generate a cleaner surface?

I am trying to create a set of surfaces from a solid, but no matter what, I get ta "faceted" looking surface.  Even when I create wire and try to create my own surface.  Blue is the solid, orange is the messed up surface.

So I started to modify the file, MC froze up, so I got frustrated and went home because it was past quitting time on a Friday!  Lol, I'll try to post it tomorrow.

Jeff,

Try:

File > Save Some. Pick just what you want to export. Give it a new file name.

Nothing else comes along for the ride...

Thanks Colin.  I actually got the crash when I tried doing an extrude cut to the model.  I didn't want to sent the entire solid.  I came in this morning and got it no problem though.  Thanks!

Try making this value smaller. This controls the accuracy of the trimmed surface boundaries when creating a surface from a solid face.

I had set that to .0001".  Thank you for the suggestion though.

Your solid has facets on it on the corners. Likely that is why the surface is coming out the same.

I noticed that, but if I curve those edges, it created a nice arc, so I thought maybe it was just a rendering thing.

Here's how you can prove to yourself it's just the rendering,,,,

Pull your edges, make sure all are arcs.....scale it up 15x's.....now using Coons, create a surface

It should like nice & clean

Now, scale it down 15x's back to original size and you get this...

The size of the rad is quite small. It is simply a graphics rendering issue
