Tool and Stock Collision

I am turning an OD on what will be a chess piece. However, I keep getting the tool running into the stock error. Any fixes? I'm new to all this and learning so any help would be greatly appreciated. Picture included:

Without a Mastercam file it is hard to say. Possibly a Lead In/Out issue or Plunge setting.

Its your lead when it goes into the recess, make the lead in  straight. -

What did you use for the OD Turning Boundary? You should create a "Turned Profile" wireframe chain, and use that to perform the basic OD, and groove turning. Trying to generate a turning path, by just using the Solid Geometry, is asking for trouble...

When turning in Mastercam, you should be generating Wireframe Geometry to drive the path. That is the easiest and most "controllable" way to drive a turning toolpath.
