Alright, ive been having a lot of trouble programming this keyway. All have ended badly. We are running a Seibu wire machine, when I input the correct values in the fourth axis section "UV trim plate, XY height, XY trim plane, the machine really doesnt like it and ignores the program completely and actually cut a part in half. Ive tried using just the part that the keyway will be cutting but it still doesnt like that (ended up making the keyway .100 too big). anyone have any ideas with this? this is my first time programming 4th axis for this machine.

see file below.

I'm no wire expert, and have only programmed 4th axis twice as we don't usually need it on any of the parts we do.  I believe your plane was incorrect, so I put a dummy plane on top of the part, and then reassociated the trim planes in the taper parameters.  Maybe this is going down the right path?

I posted that and went out to the machine and it really didnt like it lol. the error message said " the work piece thickness is zero or the distance between upper and lower guides is is too larger than the work piece thickness"
