Drip Feed 3-D paths for molds, sugestions

Recommended Posts

Good morning.

We are upgrading our p.c's that run drip feed.

The software we use is the oldest software out there and our IT guy

wants us to upgrade with a multiple license package, say 4-6 seats

Could I get a recommendation on a simple to use drip feed that ppl

are using. Cimco comes to mind??..

Cheers

thanks in advance

Rick

Dripfeeding itself is simple enough, Cimco is a good one to use...

Beware though, if you're drip feeding 3D paths, check the Max machine baud rate....if it's not fast enough you may experience a machine that uses info faster than it can receive it...the machine may skip & pause...

I use CF cards, with a PCMCIA adapter, to drip feed from, on Makino mills...

I would not refer to that process as drip feeding because many of the limitations present in RS-232 Communications are not present when running from a CF Card.

We have dnc max and used the moxa boxes. Most of them blew out so we use cf cards now.

Little did we know that Fanuc has a way of running programs from a card while maintaining full edit, search, mid program restart as if it were main memory. Standard on all Fanuc Oi-F and above including all 30 series. The option is standard on these controls except that you need to buy the PC app to set the card up, which is less than $100. Another benefit of running from a card.
