Simple Post MOD?

Yo,

Is there a simple way to take an existing 5x post and convert it to 3 axis? I love the format of the 5axis post we have but I don't want it to output A/C moves and don't want to hand edit the moves out, either after posting.

Thoughts?

Post up a Zip-2-Go, that contains the Post, and a sample file. To be clear > are you talking about programming all the operations from the same WCS (top view), without using different Toolplanes?

I'm with Ron > it could be as simple as having 'two axis combinations defined' in the Axis Combo list, and just picking the "3-Axis combination", but it would depend on who built your Post, and what they used as a "Base Post" to start with.

When we use our 5 axis as 3 axis machines we use a copy of a 4 axis post we made and put A0C0 in pcout .

It is possible to run the machine and have the 4th and 5th axes not at zero. I had this happen with a hand written program for fly cutting.  At the very least you can put the A0C0 coded with out the clamp and unclamp and it will wait instead of cutting on an unwanted angle

So Postability made this post for us. Not sure my employer wants me sharing this post they paid for so I can't post it....sorry. I know that would help a lot. Also it's encrypted.

Top-Top-Top is what I am talking about. I do understand that I could leave the AC moves in. I just seem to have issues more often than not when I leave them in so just eliminating them completely would be great! It also just makes the file that much cleaner.

This 5th doesn't have a clamp/unclamp rather it's just a brake. Servos hold everything. So I did remove the clamp/unclamp codes so those aren't in there anymore.

I will play with the axis combos and see what I can get.

You know I haven't actually reached out to our reseller regarding this. Not sure if this falls under maintenance.
