Hello, has anyone found a good way to implement the descending radial passes for dovetail tools in harder to machine materials?????

The Harvey formula is reducing percentages based on the cut width, not tool diameter.

You really don't have a choice but to make a center cut. You can order a smaller one and do some multipasses and finish with the full size cutter

We would cut down the center taking full advantage of the upper corner rad tolerance, cutting it as wide as possible, We also make our own dovetail cutters and making the dovetail cutter O/D -.002 smaller than the slot and maxing out the lower rad makes a beefy tool, we historically only use one finish pass each side. (operators digression to re-run the tool if needed).
