Create and open new file

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

I would like to ask a question about opening a new text file.
What is the solution to open a new file, start writing and continue writing to the same file by adding lines of text?

I tried with:   fbuf 7 1 80 1 1
it adds the lines only if the file already exists, but if the file does not exist it gives me an error.

(Error opening buffer file:C:\Users\TEST\TEST.PRG. Buffer number with error is 7.)

with:  fbuf 7 1 80 0 1
it opens a new file, but the next time restores it from zero.

What am I wrong?

Thank you
Mass

Sorry, but maybe I explained myself incorrectly.
I was referring to the management of the buffer file within the post processor.

My intention is to create a text file when post processing a program, where to continue writing information such as a log file.
Thank you

Do a search for "subout". This should do what you're asking for.

This is what I use,

subprg$      : 1     #sub nc file ---  subout = 1 (tool path files)

auxprg$      : 1     #aux nc file ---  subout = 2 (tool setter files)

extprg$      : 1     #ext nc file ---  subout = 3 (M198 tool path files)

Each of the above are different auxiliary channels inside of the post that I use to create separate files.

It takes some work to build but it's worth the time.
