it seems to happen when the computer locks to the login screen automatically

USB HASP? Power settings killing the USB ports when going into sleep mode/login screen? Could also be on the Ethernet Port also? I chased this one many times with Customers when I did Mastercam Tech Support working at Verisurf.

We have a server hasp. Only started with update 3. We've been on 2 for a few months now without any issues. They did upgrade e2 also. Maybe they changed a sever setting

i would suggest looking under advanced power settings on the pc under your power options, perhaps the hard drive or something else important is getting shut off or going into sleep or something? Did your IT team implement anything new that could turn something off or time you out after a while?

I think it was the sleep settings. It must have screwed around with it because I had it on performance and it was switched back to balance

good find! yea i have seen power settings especially power saving settings cause a lot of issues, i think some of those power saving modes or settings drop the pcs performance so much that it can cause issues in specific circumstances, so i always put my pc into take all the power you want mode
