We have 2 seats of mcam here. I copied out a good post from one computer and put it into the other computer. but now when i use the post on the 2nd seat i get post errors from these variables in the post: smcname, and smcpath? is it a screen>configure setting somewhere?

 

One more question. We are using still using V8. Is it still possible to get all the version 8 upgrades? we dont even have 8.1

Not sure about 8.0 to 8.1 and how that works think you need to call your dealer for that.

The upgrade from 8 to 8.1 I believe was a freebie, but as Millman sayes call your dealer.

 

About you problem posting on your second seat, could your post have been locked, so it onely work on one specific hasp?

Did you copy the .txt file as well as the .pst file.

The smcname and smcpath variables were introduced somtime during version 8 as far as I remember, so it could be your Mp.dll version that is the issue.

 

You should check that it is the same Mp.dll on both PCs, and copy the newer Mp.dll from the PC where the post works if that is the case.

I recommend updating to 8.1.1. (Yes, I meant two point ones.) You should be able to download all patches at MC's website. That was a very stable version of MC.

 

+1 to rstalcup on also copying the accompanying txt file.

 

 

Better yet, I recommend upgrading to V9 SP2 with maint.!

Well say that was pretty easy and glad you are up to 9.1 now. I think you will be happy with difference between the V8 and 9.1SP2 . If we cna be of any assistance just ask.
