No SIM found

Hello,

I've acquired an older copy of MasterCamX5 and upon initial startup, am receiving a "No SIM found" error, on a PC.

Is anyone here familiar with this? And more specifically, know of a solution for it?

Thanks!

What kind of sim did you receive with your purchase?

What  kind on PC are you trying to run it on ?

Mastercam X5 was meant to run on Windows 7

You might try right clicking the desktop  shortcut and playing with the compatibility settings

Thanks. It was an old copy I downloaded from a friend. There was no sim included (that I was aware of). Would that SIM be a physical card, as found in a phone? Or digital?

I'm running Windows 11. I'll try right-clicking on it and see if I can change the parameters correctly,

That is probably crack software that has had the licensing files cracked.

Crack software is illegal

It could also be a legal version and your friend did not sell you the sim.

The "sim" for X5 would have been a USB device that looks like a small flash drive.

You plug it into a USB port and it contains the license that allows a legitimate seat of Mastercam to run.

The software will not run without it.
