What feed is runnind right now

Recommended Posts

I need to know which feed is running at any given time. When there are some feeds with the same value, I don't know how to differentiate them from each other. Is there a variable or parameter that indicates which feed is being executed?

Thanks to all for reading

'cutpos2$' is a variable maintained internally by MP, to indicate what type of motion is being performed.

Possible Values:

0 Before start point; reset at each tool change, including null.
1 Start point, first point on surface, chained contour, etc.
2 In cut.
3 On end of cut, last point on surface, chained contour, etc.
4 After end of cut.

For more granular data, you can also use 'cstart$' and 'cend$', potentially, to see where you are at in the cut.

Didn't see you there, or else I would have just let you handle it :)

I hear you. I want to say like 2007 or 2008 was the last post serious Post work I've done. I'm pretty stoked when I can actually answer one.

CAMplete is VERY EXPENSIVE, not many shops generous to buy.  That is why I like to modify the post, even the 5axis one.

Problem Steven is you are used to working for people who don't understand the true cost of doing quality work.

CrazyMillMan,
I work for someone and I can't just demand what they would buy for me. For instance, I used to work in TESLA and I requested to buy some toolings and they said "NO". Guest what?  I have to pay out of my pocket for $300 just to make my job done. For the software, I can't buy that.  It is $100K+

ps: That is why I like to monkey with the post to work around and get my job done within time frame.

Thanks.

About 10% the cost of a new high end machine spindle.

:coffee:

Not many owners think that way.  They just like, "I buy the machine" you'll deal with it and I'll collect the revenue." That is how most of them in California are.

Of course you can if you now how to sale them on the need for it. This part is taking 20 hours to run and if we purchase this and this we can run it in 8 hours. One part might be a hard sale, 5-10 parts shouldn't be hard. Anything more than 10 parts and they will not budge then you find a company that will value your efforts.

Where again all about how you present it and back up your point with facts. They don't want to make money and then complain about not making then you show them all the places where you tired to make them more money. Approach it as a business and treat it as such. I was in the business of making money for any company I worked for as an employee. They didn't think I should be treated accordingly then I was looking for another job.  I have spent my own money many times while I was an employee. Then I would submit a reimbursement for profits made with my purchases. They refused I would just print out the legal information for them requiring to pay me for using my personal items for making money. Not once did I not get my money back.

Ron is spot on... it's all how you present  it.

I've gotten a company that for years didn't want to spend the money, to drop over $250k in the last 12 calendar months.

How?

I showed them the $$$

Once it was understood that the savings would pay for the investments in months, I had signed purchase orders.

Vericut, DNC & NC Database for over 60 machines,  multiple posts, environments and mill & lathe seats.

Do your homework.

Your post work doesn't compare to real verification.  No even close, you're not even in the same atmosphere.
