depth cut contour in z

Recommended Posts

I have an arc that  xz based.  I know what I want it to do but I don't know what toolpath is correct, and possibly how to set it up.  I want to start on the outside perimeter, move to the center until edge of the cutter is at x0.  Then go back towards the outside perimeter, but just short so the drop down to the contour is .002 farther down.  Repeat until I get to the bottom of the curve.  The cutter will always stop at x0, but starts a little farther in each time with increasing depth.   Basically a surface rough pocket, but I don't want any spiral or anything just stacked straight lines.  Cheap line drawing below.   I've made a 'landing strip' surface in mastercam 2018, but can't find anything that works.  Kind of a blend between contour and a pocket.  Thanks for any help.

Doesn't seem to work in the way i described, am i choosing the wrong one?  Can you be more specific?

Post a Ziptogo file and it will take away the guessing portion of what you are trying to achieve.
